The Cuban presence in Miami is anything but subtle, so why not celebrate it? FUNDarte and the Miami Light Project are collaborating to bring you the unusual pair of Doble Filo and Osdalgia, live this Saturday at the Wynwood Walls.
Making her long-awaited US debut through Global Cuba Fest, Osdalgia is heralded as the would-be daughter of the Buena Vista Social Club. She represents the voice of a new generation of Cuban musicians making name for themselves on that rhythm-filled island.
Accompanying her sultry boleros will be Doble Filo, one of Cuba’s most popular hip-hop acts. Fresh off from recording their latest, Despierta, frontmen Yrak Saenz and Edgaro are expected to put on quite a show. And if the combination of jazz, hip-hop, jazz and traditional Cuban rythms wasn’t seductive enough to lure you there in the first place, consider that  Doble Filo distinguishes itself by refusing to write lyrics that belittle women or champion violence.
Did we mention that you can enjoy all of this for free?
