The Women & Culture Festival is a three-day event at the 7th Circuit Studios. The festival starts on Thursday 18, with the gallery opening and artists’ lectures (free admission). On Friday 19 the funky local band Afrobeta will release their latest single, “Do You Party?,” with the help of a handful of guest DJs ($10). It all leads to the main event on Saturday, the 8th Annual Women & Culture Festival, a multimedia event that uses artistic performances as a didactic medium (8pm). It will be a great 3-days spectacle fill of music, dance and art.
Don’t forget to join the free guided meditation and chanting on Thursday, sponsored by Mystic Water Kava Bar and Miami Yogashala, from 8:00 p.m. to midnight. For more info on the single release party of Calle 13 favorites Afrobeta, click here. The main event will feature, among others, performances by Afro-Cuban songstress Sonya Feldman, the vocal stylings of Magda Noa Pantaleón, plus poetry and spoken word by Amy Baez, as well as musical and dance performances by La Fortuna. Tickets are $15 advance or $20 at the door for this show.
